Its a phrase we all know that indicates that you're in danger, and something that came to mind during a trip I just returned from.
What brought this to mind was the polar bear population in the Arctic. I took the last week to work with Polar Bears International, the world's leading group
trying to educate the world on the plight of the polar bears. We spent that time
photographing these amazing creatures in their natural habitat along
the shoreline of the upper Hudson Bay in Manitoba, Canada.
If current estimates hold true, polar bears may be gone from our planet in 50 years, due to the shrinking polar ice cap. Whether you believe in
global warming or not, one thing is definite: the ice cap is shrinking
at an alarming rate, leading to the demise of one of nature's most
spectacular creatures.
Take a minute to check out www.polarbearsinternational.org to see what you
can do to help.
